Mahmoud Al Hashmi is a seasoned energy executive with nearly 30 years of experience in multidisciplinary environments across the upstream sector. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of a leading publicly listed energy exploration and production company in Oman, overseeing strategic, technical, and commercial operations.

Mahmoud’s career is defined by his expertise in both onshore and offshore environments, with a strong focus on operational excellence and portfolio management. Since 2010, he has held various leadership roles within major regional energy groups, contributing to their market-leading positions and successful capital market activities.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University, a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde. He is also a graduate of prestigious national leadership programs in the UK and Switzerland.
