ABRAJ Energy Services, a leading provider of oil and gas services, in partnership with Petroleum Development Oman, a leading oil exploration and production company, has published a series of technical papers that highlight industrial progress and advancement. The research was presented during several international conferences earlier in the year, demonstrating the company's unwavering commitment to technical contribution and leadership in the oil and gas industry.

Papers Presented in 2023

The first paper, titled, Enhancing Productivity and Infectivity in the Sultanate of Oman's Nimr Cluster Using Hydraulic Fracturing; Challenging The Status Quo High Permeability Fracturing, was presented at the SPE Hydraulic Fracturing Technology Conference and Exhibition held in February 2023, at The Woodlands, USA. It focuses on the methodology and processes of an injector well fracturing campaign and explores an innovative method called hydraulic fracturing to boost productivity and extract more oil.The second paper, titled, Fields High Permeability Propped Fracturing Case Studies and Lessons Learnt, was put forward at the SPE Gas and Oil Technology Conference in Dubai, UAE, in March 2023. It highlights case studies and lessons learned from hydraulic fracturing operations in Nimr cluster. The paper also emphasizes the importance of maintaining post fracture retained conductivity in high permeability zones and discusses the successful results of fracturing treatments in Nimr fields.

Upcoming Publications

Furthermore, four technical papers are scheduled for publication at the SPE International Hydraulic Fracturing Conference in Muscat, Oman, in September 2023. This series of technical journals on hydrocarbon production enhancement complements the area of study and work coverage from the North to South petroleum basin in Oman. The topics of these papers highlight the process of fracturing for screenless sand control, acid and propped fracturing in carbonate rock reservoirs, and scale solution with scale inhibition-infused proppant fracturing. Additionally, the company has another publication scheduled for the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, to be held in San Antonio, USA, in October 2023. This publication highlights a study conducted after a hydraulic campaign in a high-permeability heavy crude reservoir in the South Oman basin.

An International First

This series of publications marks the first time that Abraj Energy Services has published technical papers internationally. The milestone achievement showcases the company's position as both a service and solutions provider beyond its domestic market, with its technical contribution to prestigious global industrial forums.
